Mia Nova moves between two worlds – and makes a third one of her own. Raised in Grieskirchen, she studied classical violin at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, then spent years on stage with the ska-rock band Russkaja at major rock and metal festivals and weekly in the studio of the Austrian late-night show “Willkommen Österreich”. The electric violin opened up an almost unlimited sonic range for her: since 2015 she has pursued a solo career between classical music, pop and electronica – with singles such as “Amber” and “You Know My Name” and the album “Shades” (Fullmax Recordings, 2023). Her credo: a violin does not have to be classical – it can be anything.
