Popsch are a queer quartet from Vienna – founded in 2007, with attitude as their programme: creating visibility, loud and garish rather than discreet and unobtrusive. They have stayed loyal to electroclash and run it through a field of tension between electropop, Neue Deutsche Welle, new wave and punk: monotone drum machines meet glittering synthesisers, simple hooks meet maximum catchiness – political activism and unrestrained party spirit in one big spectacle. After their debut “Top of the Pop:sch” (2011), the second album “Gay Propaganda” followed in 2026 on Fullmax Recordings.
