From the first song to the release
Fullmax Recordings is a record label and music publisher based in Vienna – and the opposite of a production line. We work with a small number of artists, but we work closely: from the first idea through production to release, promotion and the stage. Across pop, jazz and electronic music, that produces a catalogue with a point of view. Since 2024 we have specialised in vinyl releases, working with the Austrian distributor Hoanzl.
Daniel Pepl
Behind Fullmax stands Daniel Pepl – an impresario in the truest sense: someone who discovers artists, develops them and accompanies their music from the first idea to the stage and out into the world. In his main profession he shares responsibility for the communications of a non-university research institute and heads marketing and communications for an initiative in the Austrian AI ecosystem – professional background and business contacts on LinkedIn.
Music, though, is his foundation – and has been for more than 25 years. As custodian and curator of the musical estate of his father, the Austrian jazz guitarist and composer Harry Pepl (1945–2005), he learned early that music deserves care – in its sound as much as in its business. His path has led from Universal Music Austria through film and advertising music to teaching at the Vienna Music Institute (VMI), where he taught music production, the music business and audio engineering from 2005 to 2018. As a composer, producer and mastering engineer, he has a hand in almost every release on the label. Daniel Pepl has been a member of the Musikergilde with Fullmax since 2003.
