Under the title “Da ist weiter Geist und Musik (in der Maschine)” – there is still ghost and music in the machine – Vienna’s Augustin profiles Andreas Lechner, drawing a line from a euphoric concert report in 2016 to the project’s new era: the collaboration with producer Daniel Pepl, the move to Fullmax Recordings and the double album “Alice In Contraland, Part I & II”, released in autumn 2021 – Part I fully produced and electronic, Part II stripped back to voice and guitar.
Lechner is described as a reflective, well-read musician who likes to place his work in wider contexts – a fine document of the band’s “dark academia pop” period.
