The queer Viennese band Popsch release their album “Gay Propaganda” – a forceful statement against homophobic attacks and conformity, and for visibility. And an invitation to celebrate. Twelve songs between electropop, Neue Deutsche Welle, new wave and punk, available on vinyl, CD and digital, distributed by Hoanzl.
From the anthem “Queen of the Scene” through “Lesbische Frauen” and “Gender Police” to the title track: Popsch take the accusation of “propaganda” at its word – and turn it up loud. Falter heard “party with a message, hedonism with an attitude”.
